ADMIN'S AMAZING GUIDE TO GETTING YOUR CHARACTER ACCEPTED! ♥

Welcome to the site. My name is Caresse (In Real Life), and I've been role playing for many years. Probably around 7-8 years online. I've been a moderator and/or administrator for as long as that for many different sites over the years. I've gained a fairly good grasp of what gets accepted and what never does. This guide will hopefully allow you to polish up your profiles and allow them to be accepted no problem!

Let's get started....

When making profiles, OC or canon, you want to thorough! That's our key word. As a general rule, the more description the better. However, don't feel that you need a 4,000+ word biography to get accepted. We're literate, but we don't expect an essay! Simply leave room for a lot of descriptors, because we want to learn a lot about your character.

There are generally four things you can be in this particular role play.

INMATE.

DW STAFF.

UNDERTAKER.

DEADMAN.

Each class is different, no class is the same. Inmates are generally recommended to most newbies, as it allows the most interaction available. However, do not feel limited! We happily accept any! There will be more branches of each class, but that will be described in later posts.

PROFILE WALKTHROUGH:

Name: Simple stuff. Refrain from giving Japanese names to Caucasian American characters and such, it looks pretty silly. And we're sick of seeing it over and over again.
Nickname: Obviously a shortened, endearing (or mediocre) version of their name.
Age: Inmates can be any age. Same with Deadmen. Undertakers are usually in their mid 20s and up but if done right, they can be younger. Characters applying to be DW staff members should be at least 25+ years old.
Gender: Please don't leave this a mystery.
Height/Weight: Don't make this abnormal unless there is a good reason. A Height/Weight chart here will allow you to accurately assume their weight.
Class: Prisoner, Deadman, Staff, Undertaker, etc.

Appearance: Be thorough if you don't have a picture! And if you do have one, you still have to include what the rest of their body dis included in the picture looks like.

Personality: Be thorough here, especially. At least two paragraphs. How to they react to large groups of people? In battle? Do they have strange idiosyncrasies? Any phobias we should know about? There's PLENTY to put in personality.

Fighting Style: Obviously referring if they fight with a certain style (such as Ninjutsu, Systema, Capoeria... ect) or lack thereof. This is not limited to a style, it asks things like... they they use their environment to their advantage in a fight? Are they resourceful?

Likes: What they thoroughly enjoy.
Dislikes: What they DO NOT WANT.
Strengths/Weaknesses: What is an advantage exclusive to them, and what is their weak points? This is not limited to fighting, either. Jealousy can be seen as a weakness, or inability to cook a proper meal. Be creative. However, strengths and weaknesses exclusive to fighting (such as speed or flexibility) need to be EVEN IN NUMBER. For every one strength, you must have one weakness. This balances the character, and will make them more believable and allow the Moderators to easily accept them.
Hobbies: What do they enjoy in their free time?

History: We're not asking for an essay, but we would love a good description of your character's past. Major points in their life should be emphasized the most. I can't stress enough how you should never skimp on the History! That's where most of the moderators can get you.

DEADMEN ONLY

Deadman Nickname: All Deadman usually have nicknames relating to both a certain species of bird and their ability. So whats yours? Please be sure to check the Deadmen directory so that you don't choose the same name as someone else.
Branch of Sin Name: What is the name of your ability? The name of your ability doesn't have to include your Deadman alias.
Branch of Sin Ability: Be DETAILED. What form does it take? Does it change your appearance? How fast does it move? What can you do with it? List every ability. Other abilities can be added later with enough Cast Points. You may start with three main abilities for your Branch of Sin!

DW STAFF ONLY

Position To see the Roles/Positions available, please view the Available Character Roles
Please check this list. If you are to choose a position that has already been taken, your character application will be rejected.. You must also have in your history how and why your character becomes a part of the staff.. Profile mods have every right to deny your request to join the staff.

(Please remove from your character one or both of the previous, depending on your character. For example if your character is a Deadman, only include the Deadmen Only section.)

COMBAT STATISTICS

(For more information please read the Stats Topic, located ~here~)

For each stat, please make sure it makes sense with what you list as strengths and weaknesses.. Also keep in mind the history when coming up with statistics. If you want to have some kind of balance, that is fine. If your weakness is physical strength, I'm pretty sure your character isn't going to have a high strength statistic.. it just won't make sense.

THE INMATES

The regular prisoners of Deadman Wonderland.

Inmates, for the most part, are the most independent compared to the Deadmen. Inmates do not have the Branch of Sin ability and have access to a lot more locations throughout the role play. If you're applying for an inmate position, there is the likelihood that you can get released from the facility after carrying out your full sentence.

It's very unlikely to be born into the facility since there are so many different ways for people to end up dying. It's not likely that a woman could sustain having a child with poison coursing through her veins. Considering how harsh the other inmates are, she has a small chance of even surviving until the child is born. Please note that having a child as an inmate is not impossible.. just be careful and keep up on your candy count to keep the poison down.

Inmates's are probably the easiest characters to make, content-wise. No Branch of Sin description to type. There's only onebig thing about Inmates you should keep in mind if you make them;

O1. CANDY.

At least once a week, you should be buying candy. There will be a thread to show how much candy you have. Yes, it may be hard for mods and admins to keep up but as soon as a character is accepted, their names will be added. Each new inmate starts with 4 candy.

DEADMAN WONDERLAND STAFF

The staff is what keeps the facility going.

There are a few occupations in Deadman Wonderland. Each staff role has their own capabilities and duties.

O1. STAFF.

Deadman Wonderland Owner/Director - The owner/director of Deadman Wonderland is in charge of keeping the facility running and giving the orders to the rest of the staff.

Assistant Directors - Assistants to the owner/director who will run the facility if the boss is away. The Assistant takes direct orders from the owner and relays the message to the rest of the staff if necessary.

Deadman Wonderland Promoter

Attraction Supervisors - The people who keep track of the guests who visit the amusement park section of Deadman Wonderland. They make sure the rides are working properly and they manage and organize events such as the Dog Races with the direction of the Promoter.
Attraction Lounge Supervisors

G-Ward Lounger Employees

O2. GUARDS

Chief Warden - The chief warden is in charge of discipline of the inmates. They're duty is to make sure the inmates are more or less behaved and take any measure necessary if they aren't.

Warden Assistant/s - Self Explanatory. The one who follows around the Warden and helps with their duties.

Regular Cell-block Guards - Guards patrol the halls of cell blocks A-F and overlook the inmates well-being.

Attraction Guards - The guards of the amusement park.

Death row Warden - Much like the Chief Warden, the Death Row warden is in charge of the inmates on Death Row.

Death row Warden Assistant/s - Self Explanatory.

Death row Guards - Guards of the inmates on Death Row.

G-Ward Warden - The Warden in charge of G-ward. They are in charge of disciplining the Deadmen.

O3. MEDICAL UNIT

Chief Surgeon/s - Surgeon in charge of the entire medical unit. Also the one in charge of the Penalty Game after Carnival Corpse.

General Doctors - Doctors of the inmates if they're hurt or in need of emergency medical attention.

General Nurses - Doctor's assistant. Inmates will go to them if they aren't feeling well or want to just relax and lay down until they are well again.

Corpse Disposal Team - During the Dog Race, the Corpse Disposal Team will be in charge of removing the corpses from the arena. During Carnival Corpse, they move the injured or dead bodies and relocate them to the Penalty Game area.

THE UNDERTAKER

The 'Anti-Deadmen Corps'.

The Undertakers have the technology called the Worm Eater that nullifies the Branch of Sin ability. This Worm Eater technology is still being worked on so there is a chance that it's effects can be permanent.

Not much is known about the Undertakers.

THE DEADMAN

"Deadmen are those who have been infected by the Nameless Worm and gives them the ability to manipulate their own blood. These Deadmen are brought into the custody of Deadman Wonderland and locked in a special section of the prison labeled with a "G" and have no interaction with average prisoners, aside from the occasional paid-for visit to the rest of the prison.
These Deadmen are forced to participate in events known as 'Carnival Corpse' by the Director. At Carnival Corpse, they are pitted in battle against other Deadmen. The winner is rewarded with a massive amount of Cast, but the looser looses a limb or in most cases, their life.
The collars on the Deadmen stopped administering the poison, leaving them with a while lot of cash and no obligation to buy 'candy'."

1. BRANCH OF SIN.

The Branches of Sin are the powers each Deadman has, allowing them to use their own blood in order to use incredible powers, the likes of which can hardly be imagined by the average human. Usually, the Deadman can train his powers, to better understand how to use them or perhaps be more conservative with them; after all, if one were to use their powers too much, they may die of blood loss, a fate nobody wants. Various forms of this power exist, from creating blades to shooting bullets to even making whips; who knows what sort of other powers may exist?

AVOID IT.
(This list is prone to change.)

1. ORPHANS
Orphans... just... avoid them as much as you can. I mean it. I've only seen two entire biographies in my life where Orphans did NOT look cliche. Orphans are hideously overused, and while you'll probably still get accepted, the Moderators won't be keen about it.

2. TWINS
Equally as cliche. If you play it right, you should be in the clear. But be careful.

3. "ASSASSINS"
Super-secret ninja assassins that are 13-years-old that go to Deadman Wonderland in secret while still working as an assassin? Trust me. I've seen it before, don't do it. We laugh at you.

4. MARY-SUE/GARY-SUE
This should be self-explanatory. Your character is not perfect, nor will they be allowed to be. It's happened before.. Again, we will laugh at you.

5. DO NOT CONTRADICT YOUR PROFILE
One character put that he was anti-social and avoided people, yet he was still friendly and had a great personality. That doesn't make sense. Pick a personality, because you're only allowed one.

6. NON-HUMAN INMATES AND STAFF
Just... no..
